Division 3 ArchAngel — strongest ArchAngel in the published cast by divinity (#3 overall, below Uriel and Lateresa), twin brother of Lucifer (Samauel), and the angel Valaciel names when Heaven drops four wings in a Still Falling flashback and again on a February 2010 roadside hunt. He calls himself leader of the Angels despite outranked commanders, enjoys plotting others' downfall, and survived Year 9 when Carmilla nearly killed him after he backstabbed May.

1st Heaven–Hell War — shared Present and Pre-Rewind. Low ArchAngel — objected to human-origin May aiding Heaven; sneak-attacked her from behind, nearly killed her. Carmilla intervened — Daniel nearly died. Present: still ArchAngel — never surpassed Year-9 Lucy's strength benchmark.

Pre-Rewind — Val's fall

[Pre-Rewind] only on objective Present timeline — depicted in Val's Still Falling memory. Tore Val's wings twice (Lateresa witnessed both, did not intervene). After Val reached ArchAngel, ripped all four wings, stabbed chest, injected devil energy, tossed into a Void Gate. Murdered Jacob shortly after — public execution for disloyalty; true motive: blame Jacob for Val's Human Angel path and plot against Tess. Pre-Rewind — 100k window

While Uriel and Tess were often absent from Heaven, Daniel acted as leader and did as he pleased — weakest among angels who mattered on that branch at war opening, but no one publicly objected. De facto rule was social, not combat rank.

Season 1 — Still Falling (Jan 2009)

Val's void-frame fall replays Pre-Rewind sensory memory: Daniel's hands on a Messenger Val's back, later four-wing tear, chest stab, and Gate toss — Still Falling P3. Present-era Daniel has not reintroduced himself to Val on-page.

February 2010 — Archangel hunt

Vigil report → intercept on Mortal Realm road. Front of the drop — four wings, sport-kill grin; Val whites out on wing-tear flashback. Does not freeze at Carmilla's Clan Symbol on Gu Xian — survived Year 9; Solas backstop fear. Pinned by Tess after unintentional memory restore — withdraws furious; hunt deferred.
